We hold ourselves accountable for the financial, environmental and social impacts of our operations. Our Environmental Sustainability Policy is a high-level statement of our beliefs about sustainability and how we intend to promote them: A healthy environment is good for business and essential to the well-being of everyone on our planet. We aim to develop leading standards and improvement practices in our own offices and then help our clients do the same.
As our staff has grown more diverse, so has our company culture. We have undertaken extensive efforts to bring sustainability to the forefront of our operations and have found numerous creative ways to limit our environmental impact. Lorentz Bruun Construction is a proven leader in sustainable building, we are the first contractor to complete a multi-family LEED For Homes project through Earth Advantage. Since then, we have completed, or are currently working on, six different projects with the LEED For Homes program (2 Gold and 4 Platinum). Lorentz Bruun Construction worked with Earth Advantage to complete the first LEED For Homes Mid-Rise project. Construction over four stories necessitates special building requirements to reach the LEED Certification. We share our knowledge and experience of these building requirements with the project team, eliminating budget overruns or loss of LEED points due to missing required items.
LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.
